Guided Tour: Michelangelo in Florence

This guided tour traces the artistic development of the great Michelangelo, through the many artist's masterpieces that are still preserved in Florence and the places related to his memory.

 

3 hours tour

The guided tour starts with the Academy Gallery  that displays the David, the Slaves, Saint Matthew, and the Palestrina Pietà.

This museum also features an interesting collection of Florentine paintings. 
The visit will continue with the Medici Chapels, which include the Princes Chapel, mausoleum of the Medici Grand-Dukes, with a sumptuous semiprecious-stone mosaic decoration and the New Sacristy, with the tombs of the Medici, fascinating masterpiece by Michelangelo. The duration of the guided tour is approximately three hours long and includes entrance into the Academy Gallery and into the Medici Chapels subject to entrance fee, not included in the tour rate. We are available to reserve the museum entrance in order to avoid the long line.

 



 6 hours tour

The itinerary starts with the visit of the Bargello Museum that features Michelangelo's Bacchus, Tondo Pitti, David-Apollo and Brutus with the famous Donatello’s David too.

The visit continues with the Church of Santa Croce where is visible the tomb of Michelangelo and it will end in the Piazza Signoria where a marble copy of David can be seen in the setting of the original. 
The visit will go on with the Medici Chapels, which include the Princes Chapel, mausoleum of the Medici Grand-Dukes, with a sumptuous semiprecious-stone mosaic decoration and the New Sacristy, with the tombs of the Medici, fascinating masterpiece by Michelangelo. The visit will end at the Academy Gallery which features the David and other remarkable works by Michelangelo.
